Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

A New Frontier in Mental Health Treatment

For decades, people living with treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, anxiety, and chronic emotional pain have searched for something that works — something that reaches the places that traditional therapy alone cannot always access. Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is one of the most promising breakthroughs in modern mental health care, and at Isaac Farin Therapy, it is offered with the full weight of clinical expertise, deep therapeutic rapport, and meticulous care.

KAP is not simply a ketamine infusion. It is a comprehensive therapeutic process — one that begins long before the medicine session and continues long after. The ketamine creates a window of neurological openness; the therapy is what makes that window meaningful.

What Is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy?

Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic that, in sub-anesthetic doses, can produce profound shifts in perception, mood, and consciousness. It is currently the only legal psychedelic medicine used therapeutically in Florida, and research continues to demonstrate its remarkable effectiveness for conditions including:

  • Treatment-resistant depression
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Generalized anxiety and social anxiety
  • Obsessive-compulsive tendencies
  • Grief, loss, and existential distress
  • Chronic emotional numbness or disconnection

During a KAP session, ketamine temporarily quiets the default mode network — the part of the brain associated with rumination, self-criticism, and rigid thought patterns. In this state, clients often experience heightened emotional access, reduced defensiveness, and a profound sense of openness that makes therapeutic work uniquely powerful.

1Step

Comprehensive Assessment

Before anything else, We conduct an in-depth psychological, emotional, and systemic evaluation. This assessment explores your history, goals, current medications, mental health profile, and readiness for this modality. Safety is always the first priority.

2Step

MPIM™ Preparation

Using the Mindful Psychedelics Integration Method (MPIM)™, co-developed by Dr. Isaac Farin, our clients engage in a preparation process that may include mindfulness training, breathwork, hypnotherapy, and intention-setting. Many clients report significant positive shifts before ever arriving at the medicine session itself.

3Step

Medical Clearance

If KAP is deemed appropriate, We refer the client to a trusted partner physician for a separate medical consultation. The physician evaluates physical health and, if cleared, provides a legal ketamine prescription through a specialized pharmacy.

4Step

The KAP Session

On the day of the session, the client brings their legally prescribed ketamine to our office. The session is fully guided and facilitated in a carefully curated therapeutic environment — comfortable, safe, and intentionally designed for healing. We are present throughout, supporting the client's journey with expert clinical attunement.

5Step

Integration

The session is just the beginning. In the days and weeks that follow, We work with clients to process, explore, and integrate what arose during their experience. Integration is where lasting change happens — and it is given as much care and attention as the session itself.

Who Is KAP Right For?

KAP may be a meaningful option if you:

  • Have not found adequate relief through traditional therapy or medication
  • Are dealing with deep-seated trauma that feels inaccessible through talk therapy alone
  • Are ready and willing to engage in a committed therapeutic process
  • Are in good general health and free of contraindicated conditions
  • Are seeking meaningful, lasting change — not a quick fix

KAP is not appropriate for everyone. The comprehensive screening process exists precisely to ensure it is the right fit — for your safety, and for the integrity of the work.

Why Isaac Farin Therapy

At Isaac Farin Therapy, we are not a ketamine clinic. We are a deeply relational psychotherapy practice that happens to offer KAP as one of our most powerful tools. The difference matters. Here, the therapeutic relationship — built over time, rooted in trust, empathy, and genuine care — is the foundation upon which KAP rests. The medicine amplifies what has already been built between client and our team.

Our lead clinician, Dr. Isaac Farin, brings a Ph.D. in Family Therapy, LMFT licensure, certifications in hypnotherapy and mindfulness, and years of psychedelic integration experience to every KAP client. His outcomes have been remarkable — not because of the ketamine alone, but because of everything surrounding it.
